AUTO EXPO 2018 ""YAMAHA R3 ABS 2018"" PHENOMENAL SPORTS BIKE

Yamaha Motor India has just re-launched the R3 sportsbike at the Auto Expo. It’s priced at Rs. 3.48 lakhs, ex- showroom Delhi. It’s assembled by Yamaha in India through the CKD kit route. The bike was pulled off the market last  year due to the BS4 emission norms. The new bike now complies with BS4 norms, and also gets a range of updates to make it a much better motorcycle. There’s dual channel ABS that’s now standard. The tyres are grippy Metzeler units. It’ll be sold in two colours: Racing Blue and Magma Black.
Apart from the addition of ABS and Metzelers, the bike remains more or less similar to the one that was discontinued.  It has sharp styling like before, with twin headlamps up front and a steeply raked rear. It uses telescopic front  forks and a monoshock rear swing arm for suspension. Tyres are 17 inch alloy units with a 110 section front and 140 section rear tubeless tyres. There are hydraulic disc brakes on both wheels, and the bike weighs 173 kilograms. Ground clearance is rated at 160 mm.
It’s powered by a 321cc, four stroke parallel-twin engine. Operating with twin overhead camshafts that operate four  valves on each head, the motor makes a peak power of 42 PS at 10,750 rpm and a peak torque of 29.6 Nm at 9,000 rpm. A 6 speed manual gearbox is standard on the bike. The R3 is capable of hitting speeds of over 180 Kph and the 0-100 Kph sprint comes up in less than 6 seconds. Bookings for the 2018 R3 are now open at all Yamaha dealerships, and deliveries will commence soon.
